Samoëns

Samoëns, located in the Haute-Savoie region of the French Alps, is just a one-hour drive from Geneva.  It is an accessible yet unspoiled, authentic and pretty mountain village set in the heart of the Giffre Valley, offering panoramic views of the Mont Blanc range.  Samoëns carries the designation of a “ville fleurie” distinguishing it as one of the most beautiful towns in France.

‘Once famous for its stone-builders (Frahans), this medieval village is filled with their edifices. Not to be missed is the gothic church built on the foundations of a Roman church in 1438 and the Jaysinia botanical gardens that fill the slope above the old village centre. Finally, wander back through the narrow streets filled with local craft and haberdashery shops and the smells of charcuterie.’ The Telegraph

Voted ‘Best Small Resort’ in Europe by Hardy’s Skiing & Snowboarding Guide 2009, Samoëns forms part of the Grand Massif, which with 265km of piste is the fourth largest ski region in France.

With abundant snowfall and a long ski season, there is much to challenge the experienced skier as well as excellent provision for the novice and for children.  Our luxury chalet is well placed, equidistant between the two ski lifts in Samoëns, to allow maximum time on the slopes.  Click here for a plan of the village.
