Off-piste and a perfect lunch!
After the fresh snowfall on Monday and the cloud free days that have followed we took to the slopes yesterday in search of some perfect powder skiing and a leisurely lunch . . . we succeeded on both counts!
Whilst it was hard to tear ourselves away from the amazingly quiet and freshly groomed pistes in Flaine we headed in the direction of the Combe de Gers – a huge snow bowl with a vertical desent of 900m in an area with only 1 lift and no pistes!
The result was perfect off-piste conditions, plenty of laughs, tired legs and a healthy appetite. Luckily we’d reserved at the ever popular Gîte du Lac de Gers where we treated ourselves to ample portions of homemade food and a bottle of red wine. After basking in the sun for a couple of hours we headed back to Sixt Fer-a-Cheval via the picturesque Cascade run.
