Perfect Skiing in the Grand Massif
Yesterday we managed to squeeze in a day on the slopes and skied from Samoëns over to Flaine, both part of the Grand Massif ski area, which with 265km of pistes, is the fourth largest ski area in France. The skiing is fantastic at the moment with some amazing snow, quiet pistes, no queues at the lifts, and temperatures low enough to keep the pistes in fabulous condition.
Following work over the summer there are are several new red runs and a brand new 6-man high speed chairlift that takes you to the top of Les Grand Platières where you get breath-taking views of Mont Blanc!
We stopped at one of our favourite restaurants in Flaine, L’Eloge, for a bite to eat on the terrace before heading back to Samoëns, skiing right to the bottom of the bubble in Vercland.
Once back home Rob had his first sauna since we moved into the chalet, followed by a quick dip in the hot tub and then we curled up in front of our log fire for the evening!
