Myrtille foraging in Samoëns
It’s blueberry, or myrtille, season here in Samoëns at the moment so yesterday we took our guests, Alex, Evelyne and baby Mylo to the Plateau de Lois on the Col de Joux Plane road where there are wide areas of myrtille bushes and also stunning views of Mont Blanc.
It was the first time we’d used our newly purchased ‘Peigne’, basically a large comb that combs the berries off the bushes, and it made light work of our first mountain foraging session. We had quickly picked enough berries to make this tarte aux myrtilles on our return to the chalet. C’était très délicieuse!!!
